Cruise Planning - 3 Way to Reduce the Stress

23 December, 2007 (00:00) | By: babeskidoodle

Cruise planning is incredibly stressful for most people. They worry about every aspect of the trip, what to pack, what to do, what documents to take, what will the weather be like, and on and on. There are whole websites dedicated to answering these and many more questions.

Don’t let the stress of planning a cruise get you down.

I remember the first time I went on a cruise. I had all the same worries and fears as every other first timer. As a matter of fact just prior to the cruise I was wondering why I ever booked the darn thing. I was so stressed out by the planning and preparation I almost cancelled the trip. Well after many more cruises I’m hear to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way. With a little information and a little research on the internet you can turn a stressful situation into a enjoyable one. You can enjoy the time prior to your departure and use as an extension of the actual vacation.

Here are just 3 ways one can reduce the stress of planning a cruise.

1 Research you ports of call. I love to go on the internet and read about the ports of call I’ll be visiting. Learn about port, the shopping and find things to do that aren’t the normal tourist traps. This will help you be prepared when you get there and is a great family activity to extend the vacation excitement.

2 Don’t Over pack - create a packing list. Over packing is the most common mistake especially if you’re a first timer. Just sit down and make a list of the clothes and personal items you need. Then put it aside for a couple of days and take it out again and cross off half of everything you put down. You really don’t need 3 swim suits and 2 hair dryers.

3 Leave for your cruise a day early. I know this will add cost to the trip but the cost is worth every dime. There is nothing worst then traveling the day your ship is to leave and there is bad weather that is slowing plane traffic. I know I’ve been there. You worry for days before the trip and if you’re delayed the day you travel it will not make for a fun start of your vacation.

If you follow these 3 simple suggestions your cruise planning will be much less stressful and you will look forward to going on your hard earned cruise instead of dreading going.
