Sell a Company - How is the Selling Price Determined?

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: davekauppi

How much are you expecting when you sell your business? I always ask this question of our clients. The answers are as different as the businesses. “We need $5 million to give us the type of retirement we want. We have invested $2 million in the product. Our investors have put in $3 million so far. It should sell for $5 million. I heard that xyz Company got $30 million for their company.” Well, my response to my clients doesn’t necessarily endear me to them, but it is the truth. The market doesn’t care. The market doesn’t care how much it cost you to develop the product or how much your investors have in or how much you need to retire or how much you think it is worth.

The market looks at what the ROI is for its investment in a company. If you are fortunate enough to have a technology that can be leveraged, the market may look at the future returns of that technology in stronger hands.

How To Buy The Best Car Audio System For You And Your Ride

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: teahupoo

Every car that drives and people are in it needs a car stereo or some kind of CD player. If you were driving from one end of the state and you expect to go to the other end of the state without any music and you are by yourself then you must be one lonely person. You can listen to your music all you want inside your own car and you don’t have to listen to anyone telling you to turn it down or off. Many people love their time in their own car because it lets them enjoy the music that they like to listen to. Without music we wouldn’t have the audio equipment that we have today.

If you bought a car without a CD player sometimes they give you a free CD player to put in the car, other times your new car might come with a whole new audio system with subwoofers and amps. You can find a CD player anywhere like best buy, circuit city any place that sells electronics is going to have your CD player for your car. You will want to go look for a car audio stereo at a place that sells that kind of audio equipment. Such as best buy or circuit city or just a local place that sells that kind of electronics. You can usually find a really good deal on a car stereo online at their sites where they have deals that they don’t offer in the stores. You can get these deals only online and they are worth it. You can probably get a CD player online for as little as $50. That is if you go to the right place online. If you still cannot find a stereo unit then you just need to go to best buy.

Regional Security and Governance

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: Leonnewt

The events after the Cold War have focused attention on the enormous problems for the Organization for the Security and Cooperation (OSCE) in Europe. The Bosnia and Kosovo conflicts tested in the OSCE as a regional security organization. The ethnic conflicts in Bosnia and Kosovo posed a security for the OSCE governance. The proliferation of nuclear weapons, biological and chemical weapons in the hands of antagonistic groups seeking self-determination and terrorists groups could be dangerous for the OSCE goal of political stability in the region.

Party leaders like Radovan Karadzic and Slobodan Miloservic exploit and manipulate claims of ethnicity to rise to power and to booster national pride pose a threat to regional security and governance. These ethno-political conflicts are problematic for the OSCE, because of the time, resources and investments needed to stabilize the conflict region pose challenges to the OSCE as how best to handle refugees and the return of refugees. The economy is in decline because the cities are war torn, the demilitarization of the armed parties to the conflict. Seven Steps for Saving Time (by Organizing Your Life)

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: bestselfhelp

We all wish we had more time to do the things we enjoy. But the list of things to do seems to never end. Here are seven simple organizing techniques that can save you a few minutes every single day or week, and that’s time you can spend doing absolutely anything you like.

1. Get a portable file box (which you can generally purchase for $10 or so) as well as a box of letter size hanging file folders. Create a separate file for monthly bills, bank statements, medical bills, a “To Do” file, and so on. Then hang these files in your file box so you can move your “file cabinet” to the area where you pay your bills. This type of box is easily stowed out of the way when you are not using it, too.

Body Contouring Options: Liposuction vs. Abdominoplasty

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: foreignhaus

The Internet is wonderful for the field of medicine, and plastic surgery is no exception. Very few patients are very informed about plastic surgery procedures when they arrive at the doctors office for a consultation. But now, new patients arrive more knowledgeable than ever before. Instead of starting the educational process at “ground zero” more and more doctors are finding that most patients now show up already understanding the basics regarding surgery.

This moves things along and helps the doctor and patient get into more extensive discussions about the subtleties of the patients goals, needs and anatomy. However, there still seems to be a widespread view that abdominal contouring is just a choice of having liposuction or a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), with the decision simply being based on how much surgery someone wants to have. In reality, the types of body that benefits from one or the other of those procedures are very different. In fact an ideal candidate for liposuction is almost the opposite of the ideal candidate for a tummy tuck.

Do You Know Your Investment Style?

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: eltonjohns

Being familiar and sticking to your own style of investing will help you make more methodical choices instead of taking unnecessary and uncalculated risks. It really boils down to three different styles of investing and those styles describe your risk tolerance. The three investment styles are conservative, moderate, and aggressive.

If your risk tolerance is low then you will probably be sticking around the conservative or moderate risk investments. If you dont mind taking higher risks then you would be an aggressive investor investing in stocks such as penny stocks. Remember, it is also your financial goals that dictate what style of investing you fall into. Conservative investments are usually long-term investments with a return that accumulates over years rather than over night like some penny stocks.

A Face Lift Will Not Stop The Aging Process

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: foreignhaus

A face lift, which is also known as rhytidectomy, can’t stop the aging process. What it can do is improve the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and re draping the skin of your face and neck.

The skin begins to wrinkle and sag as a result of age, sun exposure and genetics. Children and young adults have smooth, round faces due to evenly distributed fatty tissues in facial contours. Over time, the skin sags and folds around the chin, jawline and neck become prominent. Not only does a face lift improve facial appearance but also has a dramatic effect on the neck, enhancing its contour and profile.

The general public has tightly embraced many alternative therapies in a world filled with superbugs, avian flu and numerous other horrifying disease and afflictions. It’s now becoming increasingly common for doctors to refer patients to aromatherapists and acupuncturists in combination with their own pharmaceutical treatments.

The History Of Communication From Smoke Signals To Modern Satellite And Email

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcorkern10

In past history it was not uncommon for messages to take months or sometimes years to reach from one side of the planet to the other. Sometimes messages sent never reached their destination at all. It was really an unreliable and very slow process to get word of anything from one distant place to another.

We sent messages by ships, carriages, horses, carrier pigeons, and in the case of the Native Americans, even by smoke signals. We used whatever means we had available to us to send important information from one place to another. The beginnings and endings of wars could depend on whether a message was received or how long it took to get there.

Silicone Breast Implants Are Again Approved By The FDA

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: foreignhaus

For more than a decade, silicone breast implants have been banned in the United States, pulled from the market amid claims that they made women ill. By the mid-1990s, the devices had become a symbol of what many regarded as corporate America’s indifference to women’s health, with one company, Dow Corning, eventually filing for bankruptcy protection.

Now, silicone implants are poised for a comeback. With no fanfare, longtime implant maker Inamed Inc., formerly known as McGhan, has taken the first step toward returning the gelfilled devices to the marketplace. On New Year’s Eve, the company quietly asked the Food and Drug Administration to allow it to again sell silicone breast implants. A rival firm expects to make a similar request soon, and a third company hopes to follow. Manufacturers also are testing a thicker, gumdrop-like gel that doesn’t leak. Inamed’s filing sets the stage for a new examination of silicone gel. Although some of the debate is expected to echo the original, this time the FDA will be ruling in a markedly changed climate — and will have safety data in hand.

Can’t Miss College Dating Tips

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcasement

While all men have had their problems attracting the opposite sex, the demographic that might be hardest to target would be college age girls. These girls are on the cusp of womanhood, often at their peak when it comes to physical beauty, and they exude a confidence they never have before and likely never will again. All of this comes down strictly against the male trying to seduce and date a college girl. Not only are the men intimidated by their sheer intellect and beauty, but the girls themselves know they are intimidating, and have no qualms, by and large, about holding that against their potential mates. In the college world, they are the hunted, and men are the predators.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways men can hone and sharpen their hunting skills, so to speak, and by following a few simple rules and tips, can snag any college girl they so desire. It isn’t a matter of being the best looking guy, or having the most money, but simply a matter of bringing something to the table (or, at the very least, appearing to) the girl desires. Sometimes this is a matter of fabrication, sometimes a matter of illusion. But more often than not, it is finding that part of you that is unafraid of women, and presenting it with confidence and suavity.

A Few Much Needed Blind Dating Tips

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcasement

If the thought of going on a blind date sends shivers up your spine and presents you with a phobia of spending two or three hours with a partner who can satisfy you on neither a superficial or conversational level, the time if now for you to sit back and relax. Blind dating doesn’t have to be the hell on earth that so many make it out to be. For one, you get to go out, have dinner, and enjoy yourself. Remember: enjoying yourself is dependent upon you, not who you share your company with or the circumstances thereof. And in order to maximize your enjoyment, here are some tips that can help you make the most of your blind dating opportunity.

From a pure standpoint, one of the most important parts on any date is trying to get a second one. Of course, this is dependent upon your date being someone you would want to spend time with a second time, but leave that alone for a moment. Even if they are not the kind of person you want a second date with, leave that decision in your own hands. Do this by being a fun and engaging person, with whom your partner would want to go out with again. While this may come across as “being yourself”, there are degrees to that maxim. You don’t want to go out on any date with your most embarrassing and ignorant behavior on display, no matter how “you” they are. A date is a time for the “best you” to make an appearance. That doesn’t mean being fake, it simply means keeping your worst traits to a minimum.

There are so many different cars around these days, and the general public only really knows about half of them. Everyone knows about the regular car companies. People know all about these car makers and they also know about the standards they can expect from these companies. There are also other car companies that most people know about, but only a half of the population would ever have the finances to own one of their cars. The general public only knows the name of these cars, and not much about what makes them a quality vehicle.

After those two groups of cars, there is another group that most of the population would never be able to afford, and most people also do not know a lot about these cars. In fact, some people may not even know that some of these cars even exist. The cars I’m talking about are more than luxury cars, more than sports cars, and more money than four or five “regular” cars put together! Here are the top ten most expensive cars in the world:

5 Credit Repair Tips You Need To Know

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcasement

If you have been asking yourself the question “how can I repair my credit history,” then you are in need of a few credit repair tips. There are actually quite a few tips out there that could help you with that goal. To get you started, here are five simple credit repair tips that will help you build a foundation for improving your credit, even if you are trying to repair credit after bankruptcy.

First, understand that improving your credit means making some changes in the way you live. That means taking a long hard look at your monthly expenses. Have you been living beyond your means? Do you rely on credit cards to take up some slack each month? Is your total indebtedness increasing each month and you have nothing to show for it? Then it is time to make changes in the way you spend money. Begin by spending a week paying your expenses out of your checking account and with pocket money - no credit card purchases. When you don’t have the money, you do without. If this means eating at home rather than going out, or watching television rather than going to the movies, then so be it.

How Does Heartworm Affect Your Dog?

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: aelara

Heartworm is a parasitic roundworm (Dirofilaria immitis) that is spread from host to host through the bites of mosquitoes. Canine heartworms or more precisely, canine heartworm disease is a potentially fatal infestation of worms that travel throughout the body until maturity, at which time they take up residence in the dog’s heart. They live in the right ventricle of the heart or in the major pulmonary arteries, surviving on nutrients which they ’steal’ from the dog’s bloodstream. On rare occasions, migrating heartworm larvae get ‘lost’ and end up in unusual sites such as the eye, brain or an artery in the leg, resulting in some unusual symptoms such as blindness, seizures and lameness.

Heartworm disease is actually caused by the body’s immunologic reaction to the presence of the adult and offspring worms but many dogs will show little or no sign of infection even after the heartworms have matured.

Is Lap Band Surgery The Weight Loss Solution For You?

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: twinpeak

If you’re thinking about undergoing weight loss surgery, it’s not only an important medical decision but a significant financial decision too. Lap band surgery or adjustable gastric band procedure is usually used in dire circumstances and is performed with laparoscopic instruments, which means the surgery is minimally invasive and has a short time for recovery. The American company, INAMED Health, designed the BioEnterics LAP-BAND Adjustable Gastric Banding System, which was first introduced in Europe back in 1993.

Gastric banding, including the Lap Band procedure and weight loss system is usually indicated for people whose Body Mass Index is above 40. Or for those people who are 100 pounds (45 kg) or more over their estimated ideal weight according to the 1983 Metropolitan Life Insurance Tables (still used today). Or for those people between 30 to 40 who have co-morbidities (high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis), which may improve with weight loss. Those who are eligible to have it must be between ages 18 and 55 years, although there are doctors who will perform surgery outside these ages, some may be as young as 12. It should not be performed when severe cardiopulmonary diseases or other conditions are present, which make them poor candidates.

Out of the Shell: Dating Tips for Shy People

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcasement

The dating scene can be hell for those that are shy. Simply working up the courage to ask someone else can be a stressful situation on par with nothing else you will do in your lifetime. And then comes the nightmare of the date itself. Dates can be a source of stress for even the most gregarious and outgoing people; for those that are shy it’s ten times worse. Thankfully, even with a good dose of shyness, dating is possible, and it is perfectly within your capabilities to actually be good at it. All you have to do is follow a few simple rules and master a couple of very basic techniques to make any potential mate drop his or her jaw when you reveal later that you’re actually really shy.

One of the first things any shy person should do is come up with very rehearsed answers for a lot of common questions. Shy people, especially those very inflicted with the disease, often find themselves stuttering over the most basic of answers. Get over this by coming up with some pat replies (a little humor never hurt anyone) and practice saying them until you wouldn’t trip over your words if there was a gun to your head.

A Few Dating Tips to Break the Ice

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: jcasement

One of the most important things to remember when on a first date is to focus on things that will keep the mood light and casual. Both you and your date are probably nervous and wishing, at least in some part of your mind, that you were somewhere else. In order to get past that nervous tension, you have to go out of your way to make both yourself and your date feel at ease. This means avoiding (at all costs) any topics that could create even more tension, or darken the mood. While you may be sick to death of bland first date conversation, the solution to that isn’t to bring up your controversial opinions of late term abortions, or political assassins.

Beyond that, you’ll want to make sure you keep the pace nice and slow. While questions are fine, it’s not okay to interrogate someone, which is a mistake many, many daters make. No one wants to feel like you came prepared with a list of questions and the answer to said questions will determine the status of your second date. Just keep the tone causal and friendly and ask your questions as they come up naturally in the conversation.

What Is The Purpose Of A Forehead Lift Surgery?

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: foreignhaus

A forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that can restore certain areas of your face including above the area above the eyes. The procedure can also correct drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.

In a forehead lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. Your surgeon may use the conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind the hairline; or it may be performed with the use of an endoscope, a viewing instrument that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Both techniques yield similar positive results — smoother forehead skin and a more animated appearance to your face.

How to Use Magic Potions Wisely

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: rariadne

In the fantasy tradition, magic potions have eye of newt or toad’s breath or equally disgusting sounding concoctions and have some sort of visible and usually hideous effect. One again, that kind of gross over exaggeration is not the way real magic potions work and they are very unlikely to show an immediate tangible result.

For years, witchcraft has been afflicted with labels usually by people who know nothing about the craft. Witchcraft can fall into several categories depending on the intent.

White magic is sometimes considered the “good” magic. It is magic that has no intent other than to do good. Grey magic is neutral; it has no moral effect good or bad, it simply is and black magic is magic that violated the principles by which I live. It is magic done with the intent to cause harm to others and it will never be supported on this website.

The Best Walleye Fishing Season

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: fishinghelper

Walleye fishing season is the best in spring during and after the spawning season. However, summer nights and fall months are just as good for fishing for walleyes. Just like the weatherman predicting weather that never seems to be correct, the right fishing time cannot be predicted as well. The right season is when the walleye seem to be the hungriest. This would be right after the spawn in spring. After spawning, the walleye rest for a few days before venturing out for food and the beginning journey to the open waters. Now is the best time to fish for walleye.

Even though the weather is a bit chilly, you will find that you have more strikes after spawning then you do all year long. The fish have had a slow feeding winter and the spawn takes everything they have left. They do not feed much during the spawn, so they are going to be hungry. At this time, it best to use small baits. The fish are hungry and ready to feed, but they are eating in small amounts right now in order to build up an almost dormant appetite. By watching weather reports, water condition and temperature reports, you can almost pinpoint the right time to look for walleye in rivers and by the lakeshores.

Car Financing with Bad Credit Loans

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: datraveler

Many of us have had a period in our lives where we hit a financial crisis. While we don’t like to admit that we have had issues in the past with finances our credit history is going to reflect that trouble depending on how long ago the trouble was and whether we had it removed after the appropriate time. For instance a bankruptcy will be reflected on your credit history for seven years. While for most purposes a bankruptcy will stop affecting you after four years it can still have a moderate affect on any car financing you try to get. In other words when you have bad credit you are going to be paying a higher interest rate on the car loan because you are deemed a risk.

Don’t despair if you have bad credit though. You will still be able to get car financing and as long as you have turned around your financial life you should be able to handle the car payments. In most cases if you have proven yourself to be responsible again the car loan will deduct a half a point every six months for the last two or three years of the loan.

The Primary Benefits of a Colon Cleanse

17 January, 2008 (00:00) | By: thenrifi

The colon plays a key role in fulfilling the essential duties of our digestive system. The job of the colon area is really fundamental. It promotes absorption of nutrients and fluid into the bloodstream and sweeps away the garbage by pushing the waste products out of the body naturally. During this never ending process, toxic substances and waste can accumulate in the colon. This results in irregular bowel movement, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and physical discomfort.

By conducting a thorough colon cleanse, you help your digestive system work more efficiently. After you complete a colon cleanse, nutrients get absorbed from food more efficiently and more completely and the accumulated waste material is flushed from the body. These wastes are potentially quite dangerous if allowed to persist. To comprehend the significance of this issue, simply imagine holding a glob of that rotted, deteriorating, repulsive waste in your hand for a minute. That sort of turns your stomach a bit right now I would wager. Well then, why would we possibly consider carrying around ever increasing quantities of that repulsive material inside our body?

While you may think you are getting the best deal through the car dealership that you could it bears checking on other types of loans outside of the dealership before you sign on the dotted line. In other words there are reasons why you may find a bank car loan is a better deal than the dealership is willing to offer. You may think this can’t be true as they will both be looking at the same data, but truthfully there are many reasons not to go through a car dealership.

First some car dealerships have relationships with banks. The car dealership either owns the bank or vice versa. In some cases you just find that they deal with only ten banks. In any of the cases listed you will find that it may benefit you to look for your own loan through a bank first before approaching the dealer. The dealership can always give you an estimate for a car loan through them and you can compare the offers. You don’t have to sign for any car loan until you have actually done all of the research that makes you comfortable.
